Rini is running away from the battle, where they realized that Sailor Moon is Helios' maiden. Rini is hurt that she couldn't help Helios; she really wanted to be his maiden, but she thinks she's too weak to do any good. Her bell rings, and Helios appears. She asks him if a day will come when she is needed, and she'll really be a Sailor Soldier and realize her dreams. It starts to rain. Helios becomes human and kisses Rini. He tells her that she is always needed, and that there is love all around her. He disappears, but says that he'll come back to see her again.

Bunny, Darien, and Amy find Rini right after Helios disappears. Bunny tells her to come home, or she'll get sick. Rini asks where Helios is. Amy says that he disappeared right after Rini ran away. Rini realizes that it must have really been Helios.
Helios floats down into a small birdcage and becomes Pegasus again. Queen Nephrenia is watching. She says that he's quite a fighter to be able to escape her witchcraft, but she has already conquered him and his land, and Earth will be next. Helios says that the Prince and the Princess will stop her. Nephrenia gets angry and shoots black lightning at him. Helios thinks that he must find the Golden Crystal, or the Earth will be lost.

Zirconia is staring at the Earth when Nephrenia appears in her mirror. She says that their era has begun: the White Moon Kingdom is gone, and all they have to do is take the Silver Imperium Crystal. Zirconia objects that only the crystal's true owner can use its power. Nephrenia gets angry at Zirconia and asks if she knows who she's talking to. Zirconia says of course: Nephrenia is "the true queen of the Moon, the true owner of the crystal, and the one who will possess all." Nephrenia laughs.

Raye is at school, practicing archery. She's not doing very well, and her instructor asks what's wrong. After school, Raye is with her friends, but she's reading a book about shrine management. Bunny says she looks like Amy, studying all the time. Raye explains that with the economy so bad, they have to run the shrine better. Amy says to hire someone, but Raye says it would be a waste of money. Then Mina gets a brilliant idea: Raye should get married! Raye gets mad, but Mina says that it would be like getting a free helping hand, and Raye could do whatever she wants. Raye says it sounds tempting. Amy tells them to act their age, which reminds Mina and Lita that they want boyfriends. Raye sighs and starts reading again. Mina says it's normal for them to want boyfriends. Luna, Artemis and Diana interrupt them to remind them that tomorrow is the day that the Dead Moon Circus opens. Mina says that they're ready anytime.

Raye has gone back home to the temple. Her grandpa is sick, and he's mumbling about how "this is the end" for him. Raye sweatdrops and says she'll take care of things for now. Two girls come up and buy love charms from Raye. They walk off giggling about cute upperclassmen. Raye wonders why everyone seems to want a boyfriend so much. She remembers what Mina, Amy, and Lita wished for at the eclipse: to be a star, a doctor, and a bride. Raye realizes that she's never had any big dreams, she's just assumed she'd become a priestess. She wonders what her real dream is.

Raye picks up an arrow and remembers that "her arrow was straying today." Suddenly she smiles and throws the arrow, calling to Phobos and Deimos, her crows. They catch the arrow and bring it back. Raye's grandfather watches her and remembers when Raye first came to live with him, in elementary school. The first thing she noticed was the crows. She "felt" that two of them were named Phobos and Deimos. Raye's grandfather says that someday Raye will leave and "fly back to the place where she belongs."

It's the grand opening of the Dead Moon Circus, and all the Inner Senshi are there to check it out. The circus is expensive: $100 a show! They say it must be a scam. Rini wants to ride the roller coaster, but Bunny says that they're not here to play. The cats go to take a look around. Rini convinces Darien to take her on the go-carts, and Bunny wants to come, too. (So much for not being here to play...)
Raye is surprised-she doesn't feel anything evil. She even brought Phobos and Deimos to help her sense evil karma. She says that she hasn't had this much fun in a long time. A voice-PallaPalla-says that that's what the circus is all about. Raye looks around, but can't see anyone. As she's walking, the House of Mirrors catches her eye. She decides to take a look. She walks in...and the door disappears. Phobos and Deimos start squawking.

CereCere calls out that the show is about to start. Everyone's about to go in, when they realize that the cats and Raye are missing. Luna, Artemis, and Diana come running up, but CereCere kicks them out, saying "No cats allowed!" In the circus, CereCere is swinging on a trapeze. VesVes is leading some elephants around with a whip. She's smiling at the audience, but she's really trying to decide whether to make the people her servants or just feed them to the lemures. The audience is in a trance-they're all dizzy and happy. Someone asks where Raye is, but they decide she must be around somewhere. Then Darien notices that there's no exit.

Raye is walking through the House of Mirrors. She notices that in one mirror, she has no reflection, and wonders what the trick is. A voice says that there are no tricks-the mirror shows your true self. Raye's reflection starts talking about who she really is: her mother died, her father was too busy, and she was always unhappy. She really wants to be happy. The real Raye is trapped in the mirror now. Her reflection says that she's tired of hanging out with Bunny and being a Sailor Scout. Raye shouts that that's not what she really thinks. Her reflection ignores her, and says that she wants a friend who will do whatever she tells her to, and a guy that's "totally into" her. Her reflection kisses Tiger Eye. Raye uses her "Aku Ryo Tai San" against them, and Tiger Eye turns back into a tiger. PallaPalla is angry and surprised, but she says that her magic won't break that easily.

|
Raye's reflection takes the interruption in stride, and decides that's not what she really wants. She really wants to marry someone rich, and forget being a priestess. Raye decides that she's had enough, and tries to transform, but it doesn't work. The mirror reflects the power around her. Her reflection wonders what she was dreaming about anyway. "Morph? Into what?" PallaPalla appears with Tiger Eye, and tells him to "Devour the flesh and soul of this poor little dreaming girl!"

The cats are mad about being left out of the circus. Raye complains that Phobos and Deimos are being loud. Then Artemis notices that the circus tent's entrance has disappeared.
Phobos and Deimos break through a window into the House of Mirrors.
Tiger Eye is chased away by a cloud of feathers, but Raye is still asleep and dreaming. Then two small black-haired girls appear to her, calling her Princess Mars. Each one of them is holding a feather. She asks who they are. They swoosh the feathers and show a vision of everyone in circus tent, dizzy. Raye can't believe that she left them, and realizes that she has to be strong against the enemy. The girls introduce themselves as Phobos and Deimos and give Raye her Mars Crystal.

|
Raye transforms into Super Sailor Mars. She can feel the new power running through her like a flame. She remembers Michiru telling her to keep sharpening her senses, and to "stretch a single piece of string across your heart...And then use all your body and soul to release your fatal arrow!" Raye destroys Tiger Eye, and the spell explodes in PallaPalla's hand.
Hawk Eye is panicking because now Tiger Eye and Fish Eye are dead. The rest of the Quartet come out of the tent and ask what's going on. PallaPalla is mad. An exit appears in the tent and everyone comes out, but they can't really remember any of the circus. Raye runs up and asks if everyone's all right. She tells them about fighting the Enemy in the House of Mirrors, and says that they play on the doubts inside of you. Everyone decides that they've got to "wipe out the Dead Moon Circus...ASAP!"
|
|
Meanwhile, the Quartet is making their own plans. VesVes says that the Sailor Scouts will pay for defeating Tiger Eye during their show. JunJun says they can't confront them, though, because they'll be in trouble if the circus gets ruined. CereCere says that they'd better plan carefully... "Because our Dead Moon Circus show just got started!"
